Second Technical Assistance Mission to the National Assembly of Angola

In the framework of the project “Support to ICT Strategic Planning in the SADC Parliaments”, a second technical assistance mission was conducted to the National Assembly of Angola (5 to 9 December 2011) by the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament and the SADC Parliamentary Forum, with support from experts from the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal and the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil. Following the initial assessment undertaken earlier this year, the second mission focused on collecting additional information about the ICT environment of the Assembly, reviewing and updating the assessment report from the first mission, and drafting an ICT strategic plan for the Parliament with specific objectives and a roadmap for implementation.

First technical assistance mission to the National Assembly of the Republic of Suriname

The technical assistance mission team from the Global Centre with support from the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil, succesfully completed the first mission to the National Assembly of the Republic of Suriname. Besides assessing the ICT infrastructure, organization, services delivery within the institution a thourough analysis was made of the archiving standards, policies and needs.

First technical assistance mission to the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago

From 5 to 9 December in the framework of the European Commission funded project Support to ICT Strategic Planning in Caribbean Parliaments, a first technical assistance mission visited the "Red House" and other parliamentary buildings, to carry out an assessment on the state of ICT at the Parliament.

First Technical Assistance Mission to the Parliament of Sierra Leone

At the request of the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament fielded a technical assistance mission to analyse the current use of information and communication technologies in the Parliament of Sierra Leone, from 21 to 25 November 2011. The mission focused on the assessment of the state of technology of the parliament taking into consideration the existing parliamentary process, procedures and organizational framework.

Second technical assistance mission to the Houses of Assembly of Dominica

Following the first technical assistance mission carried out by the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament to the House of Assembly of Dominica, from 14-18 November 2011 in the framework of the European Commission funded project “Support to ICT Strategic Planning in Caribbean Parliaments”, the second mission took place with the aim of assisting the House of Assembly with the formulation of a shared vision for ICT and Strategic Plan.

First Technical assistance mission to the National Assembly of Tanzania

Within the framework of the European Commission funded project “Support to ICT Strategic Planning in SADC Parliaments”, the Global Centre undertook a technical assistance mission to the National Assembly of Tanzania from 31 October to 4 November 2011. The mission focused on perception and understanding of the vision, mission and core values of the Parliament and made the assessment of the ICT system in order to deliver a report with strategic direction and recommendations.

First technical assistance mission to the National Assembly of Belize

In the framework of the European Commission funded project Support to ICT Strategic Planning in Caribbean Parliaments”, a first technical assistance mission visited the National Assembly of Belize from 11 to 14 October 2011. The team met with the Clerk of the National Assembly, Officers of the Main Office and Registry Section, as well as with the ICT focal point to understand and assess the current state of ICT in the parliament.

National Assembly of Seychelles gets support for ICT project

The National Assembly of Seychelles is being empowered to make greater use of information communication technologies (ICT) to promote transparency, accountability, democratic participation and good governance, so as to better fulfill its democratic function. Effectively, a team of three experts from the United Nations (UN) and the Southern African Development Community Parliamentary Forum (SADC-PF) was at the National Assembly, conducting a needs assessment for a project to develop an ICT strategic plan for the National Assembly of Seychelles.

First Technical Assistance Mission to the Senate and National Assembly of Lesotho

In the framework of the European Commission funded project “Support to ICT Strategic Planning in SADC Parliaments”, a first technical mission was conducted to the Parliament of Lesotho (03 to 07 October 2011) to carry out an assessment of the status of ICT in the Senate and the National Assembly and make initial recommendations for the ICT Strategic Plan.

In the framework of the European Commission funded project Support to ICT Strategic Planning in SADC Parliaments”, a first technical mission was conducted to the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique (19 to 23 September 2011) to carry out an assessment of the status of ICT in the Parliament and make initial recommendation for the ICT Strategic Plan.

First Technical Assistance Mission to the Parliament of Barbados

In the framework of the European Commission funded project “Support to ICT Strategic Planning in the Caribbean Parliaments”, a first technical mission was conducted to the Parliament of Barbados (19 to 23 September 2011) to carry out an assessment of the status of ICT in both Houses of the Parliament and make initial recommendation for the ICT Strategic Plan.

First Technical Assistance Mission to the National Assembly of Seychelles

In the framework of the project “Support to ICT Strategic Planning in the SADC Parliaments”, a technical mission was conducted to the National Assembly of Seychelles (4 to 9 September 2011) by the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament and the SADC Parliamentary Forum, with support from an expert from the Parliament of Finland.

Second Technical Assistance Mission to the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic

In the framework of the European Commission funded project “Support to ICT Strategic Planning in the Caribbean Parliaments”, a second technical mission was conducted to the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic (1 to 6 August 2011). Following the assessment previously undertaken, the second mission focused on the preparation of the ICT Strategic Plan.
