Report of the World e-Parliament Conference 2007

The World e-Parliament Conference 2007 and related meetings, held in Geneva on 9 -12 October, provided an opportunity to debate the challenges and benefits provided by ICT and analyzed successful approaches, identified good practices and lessons learned.

Fellowship / Staff Exchange Programme

As part of its activities to strengthen the capacity of parliamentary officials to harness Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the legislative process, the Global Centre for ICT Parliament placed six fellowships at the disposal of parliamentary officials from developing countries for a Study Tour in September 2007.

Towards the establishment of an African Parliamentary Knowledge Network on ICT, legislation and documentation

An International workshop “Towards the establishment of an African Parliamentary Knowledge Network on ICT, legislation and documentation" (APKN) was held on 20 March 2007 to exchange ideas and agree on a common framework for the establishment of an APKN. The workshop, hosted by the National Assembly of Nigeria, was organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
