The second technical mission to the Parliament of Saint Lucia took place between 26 and 30 March. The mission was led by the National Project Officer of CARICAD supported by a Senior Parliamentary ICT Advisor of the Global Center. Thanks to the excellent follow up and organization of the Parliament of Saint Lucia the second mission was able to take place so quick after the first one (at the beginning of March).

Main Activities

A delegation of the Senate of the Republic of Uruguay was in Italy from 20 to 24 April 2009. They visited various places and institutions: the University of Bologna, the European University Institute in Florence, the Italian Senate and the Chamber of Deputies and, finally, the Global Center for ICT in Parliament in Rome.

A delegation of the Iraqi Council of Representatives visited the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament and the Italian Parliament - Senate of the Republic and Chamber of Deputies - from 16 to 19 November 2008.

Within the framework of a visit to the Senate of Italy on 23 April 2008, a delegation from the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led by the Secretary-General, visited the Global Centre to learn more about the Centre's activities and to explore possible opportunities for future cooperation.

A delegation of the National Assembly of Vietnam headed by Mr Le Quang Vu, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Office, visited the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament from 3 to 5 December in the framework of a study tour with focus on e-parliament.

As part of its activities to strengthen the capacity of parliamentary officials to harness Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the legislative process, the Global Centre for ICT Parliament placed six fellowships at the disposal of parliamentary officials from developing countries for a Study Tour in September 2007.
