Ukrainian translation of the World e-Parliament Report 2012 now available

The Parliamentary Development Project for Ukraine has worked with the Division of Computerized Systems of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to provide the Ukrainian translation of the original English language World e-Parliament Report 2012.

U.S. House of Representatives: House Floor Summary in real-time RSS feeds and new search tool in HouseLive.gov

The Clerk’s office of the House of Representatives of the United States implemented two projects: 

  • The House Floor Summary may now be accessed through a real-time RSS feed. The feed displays legislative proceedings as they occur, in addition to the proceedings of the previous five legislative days.
  • New speaker search tool: HouseLive.gov now provides users with the ability to search the full transcript of any legislative day to find the video of where a Member of the House spoke on the Floor. The  search function is accessible via the dropdown menu at the top of the Floor Summary window.

European Parliament delivers the open source version of AT4AM, a web editor for amending legislation.

On 19 March 2013, Rainer Wieland, Vice President of the European Parliament, announced, in a video conference with the United Nations Department for General Assembly and Conference Management from New York, the UN/DESA’s Africa i-Parliaments Action Plan from Nairobi and the Senate of Italy from Rome, the availability of Open AT4AM for any parliament and institution interested in taking advantage of this effective IT tool that has made the life of MEPs easier.

The Senate of Italy publishes all bills in XML Akoma Ntoso

Since 23 February 2013 the Senate of Italy started to publish on its website all bills in XML, using an Akoma Ntoso compliant scheme (in addition to the usual HTML, PDF, and ePub formats). Also, the Senate of Italy recently released the open data portal dati.senato.it
