Ukrainian translation of the World e-Parliament Report 2012 now available

The Parliamentary Development Project for Ukraine has worked with the Division of Computerized Systems of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to provide the Ukrainian translation of the original English language World e-Parliament Report 2012.

During the 55th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), whose priority theme this year is the Access and participation of women and girls to education, training, science and technology, including for the promotion of women’s equal access to full employment and decent work, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), organised a parliamentary event entitled The Role of Parliaments in promoting access and participation of women and girls to education, training, science and technology. Mr. Jeffrey Griffith, Senior Advisor, made a presentation on behalf of the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament.

World e-Parliament Conference 2007 - Challenges and benefits of ICT in parliamentary processes

The World e-Parliament Conference provided an opportunity to debate the challenges and benefits provided by ICT and analyzed successful approaches, identified good practices and lessons learned.
The Conference was aimed at parliamentarians, Secretaries General and parliamentary staff and officials who work with ICT, such as legislative staff, IT administrators, knowledge managers and librarians.

The event was co-organized by the United Nations, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Parliament of South Africa, the Pan-African Parliament and the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament.

Network of Women Parliamentarians of the Americas

The Network of Women Parliamentarians of the Americas brings together the women members of parliamentary assemblies of unitary, federal and federated states, regional parliaments, and interparliamentary organizations in the Americas. Its members engage in concerted action on matters relating to women so that they may be taken into account within the continent’s legislative bodies. As part of the Parliamentary Confederation of the Americas (COPA) since 1999, the Network has been actively developing expertise on various women’s issues on which parliamentarians have the power to take action.
