"Parliaments are, after all, the governing institution closest to the citizens, meant to provide citizens with a direct link to the policymaking process and a method of accountability and oversight of other branches of government" says Mr. Ranko Krivokapic, President of the Parliament of Montenegro, and newly elected President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, in this article.  He underlines the importance of  "transparency and openness as key to reinforcing the trust between parliaments and voters".

The Parliamentary Development Project for Ukraine has worked with the Division of Computerized Systems of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to provide the Ukrainian translation of the original English language World e-Parliament Report 2012.

The 2012 Law Via the Internet (LVI 2012) took place at the Cornell Legal Information Institute (Ithaca, New York) from 7 to 9 October 2012 and covered themes on free and open access to legal information: open government and e- participation, legal publishing, open access and sustainability, applications, data management, etc.
